Yosemite National Park is one of the most breathtaking places for any adventurous elopement, wedding or even engagement. From the gorgeous waterfalls and meadows in Yosemite Valley, and the mountainous views of Half Dome and El Capitan, this national park should definitely be on your bucket list!
Over the past couple of years, I’ve captured what feels like a million couples’ adventurous elopements and weddings so when I finally had downtime, I decided to re-edit my first ever shoot in Yosemite. This styled elopement is what brought me to Yosemite for the first time in 2018 and back then I couldn’t have imagined a place so stunning. When I saw there was a workshop taking place in Yosemite, I packed my bags and ventured up from Los Angeles to Yosemite National Park. I had no idea I would end up roadtripping up to Yosemite on a regular basis to capture weddings and elopements with couples from all over the world.
We all woke up in the middle of the night to arrive at Glacier Point before the sunrise. Lindsay and Nolon braved the cold morning and we hiked out to Glacier Point in the dark. Lindsay’s dress was from Grace Loves Lace and it was the perfect match for an adventurous boho elopement! We watched the sunrise over Half Dome and took in that gorgeous fall morning together. Lindsay and Nolon were SO fun to photograph and it was such a joy to share stories, laugh and get to know each other while we explored Glacier Point together!
I often think back to this morning and reminisce about the first time I watched the sunrise at Glacier Point, not knowing I would be so fortunate to do so again and again, with more to come still. I think about how it was a mysterious and unfamiliar place to me back then, and now I know Yosemite like the back of my hand. I get so excited when I see my couples experience the same thing for their first time and nothing makes me happier to capture that adventure with them!
This morning’s styled elopement will always hold such a special place in my heart and I’m so grateful to all the vendors that made it possible!
