⁣Olympic National Park is my all time favorite park for any adventurous elopement and here’s why: 👇⠀
⠀
• It’s the only national park where you can enjoy coastal beaches, rainforests, mountains, waterfalls, and alpine lakes all in the same day 🙌⠀
⠀
• There are tons of accessible locations that offer amazing backdrops with little to no effort to get to them! ⠀
⠀
• Many of the best spots are at lower elevations, so there’s mild weather most of the year which makes elopement planning super easy ✨⠀
⠀
• The best moody, Twilight-esque beaches and forests are in Olympic National Park (and Forks where the movie took place!) and who doesn’t want to feel like they’re in Twilight?? 🌙

• Olympic National Park has one of the largest temperate rainforests in the US and it’s bright green moss-covered trees make you feel like you’re in an actual fairytale ⠀

Okay, if I haven’t convinced you to elope in Olympic National Park I don’t know what will 🙈 I highly recommend this place if you want an adventurous elopement with tons of diverse landscapes to explore 🤗

Washington is truly one of the most enchanting states 🙌 But seriously— from mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, and even pebble beaches with giant rock formations, there is something for everyone. You can even explore multiple of these landscapes in one day 😍⠀

1. Have a backup plan in case of inclement weather 🌧️⠀
⠀
The weather in Washington tends to be a bit unpredictable, especially as it gets into the fall and winter months. Snowstorms will usually start to occur more frequently in late October and November, continuing through the winter, which may impact your elopement plans. ⠀
⠀
I recommend always having a backup plan in case of inclement weather, and keep an open mind that your original plan may not work accordingly.⠀

2. Check for road closures ⚠️⠀
⠀
The last thing you want to do is find out on your elopement day that your location is inaccessible due to road closures! Make sure to check the website of the park/forest you’re visiting and follow along on their Twitter account to stay up to date on road conditions. ⠀

3. Avoid weekends 🥾⠀
⠀
I highly recommend avoiding a weekend for your elopement if you’re eloping in a popular area (especially National Parks) since the crowds tend to rush in during that time. ⠀

This could impact not only the intimacy of your elopement, but can also cause overly crowded trails and backed-up traffic getting into the park (sometimes hours-long waits at the entrance).⠀

1. Season 🍃⠀

Spring is the best season to elope at a waterfall since they’re usually at the highest flow and therefore look much fuller and more lush!⠀
⠀
2. Location 📍⠀
⠀
Some of my favorite locations to find waterfalls are:⠀
👉 Columbia River Gorge⠀
👉 Mt. Hood National Forest⠀
👉 Snoqualmie National Forest⠀
👉 Willamette National Forest⠀
⠀
3. What to Pack 🥾 ⠀
⠀
• Hiking boots (that you don’t mind getting muddy!)⠀
• Extra jackets (waterfall mist can make you chilly)⠀
• Hand warmers⠀
• Makeup touch-up kit⠀
• Extra socks (in case your feet get wet!)⠀
⠀
4. Leave No Trace 🌎⠀
⠀
Not every waterfall allows hikers at the very base, so make sure you’re not entering into any restricted areas! It’s important to preserve the fragile ecosystem surrounding waterfalls and follow all posted signage. Remember to leave every trail as you found it so future visitors can enjoy it equally!⠀

It takes a lot of trust to choose someone to not only document the big day, but also help plan the best locations, time of day, and making sure you look amazing in all of the photos. ⠀

Connor & Morgan trusted me throughout the whole process, and we had the most amazing sunrise adventure in Sequoia National Park! It was an early morning, but we beat the crowds and had the most gorgeous soft lighting 🙌⠀
